01Albatross and Terrorizing Bird are one search route here
Steam’s official achievement list names a target called Terrorizing bird. Community catch tables call the Rocks boss encounter Albatross and map it to a Tuna trigger. This guide uses Albatross as the canonical URL while naming the achievement wording so players do not need two nearly identical pages.
The official achievement record establishes the wording but does not publish an encounter recipe or combat statistics. The Tuna setup is therefore clearly labeled as dated community route evidence. If your in-game quest calls the target something else, follow the live prompt before relying on a historical nickname.
02Catch and reserve Tuna before starting the encounter
The shared 49-catch mapping puts Tuna on Rocks with a Fishing Rod and Professional Boss Lure. It then lists Tuna as Albatross bait, which makes it a chain item instead of an ordinary catch to sell immediately. Keep inventory room so the Tuna does not get cooked, sold or confused with another boss lure.
Do the normal collection step first if Tuna is still missing from Fishipedia. A Boss Lure pool is not interchangeable with a regular lure pool, even if both are used on the same island. Patch 1.0.12 says Tuna was slightly nerfed but does not announce a new lure, trigger or hand-in. The all-fish table can help distinguish this preparation step from the later bird encounter.
03Prepare around visibility and familiar tools
No first-party source in this evidence set specifies a required weapon for Albatross. Bring healing and a ranged or melee option whose recovery time you understand rather than chasing a supposed best loadout. That preparation remains useful even when a patch changes movement or damage interactions.
Keep a clear path through the Rocks area so you can observe the encounter before committing to a damage window. Community combat advice is useful as a test plan, not as proof of a fixed attack sequence. In co-op, decide who preserves the Tuna and who confirms the distinct return item after the fight.
04Complete the hand-in before assuming Volcano is open
Community progression references place the Albatross return step before the Volcano stage. They do not provide a complete official dialogue transcript or a stable trophy name, so this guide avoids inventing one. Pick up the unusual post-fight item first and bring it to the active quest giver before leaving Rocks.
The reliable confirmation is an updated quest objective or a new map cue, not the fact that the fight ended. If the route does not change, check which player holds the item and reread the NPC text. Record the patch number with any mismatch so a route change can be separated from an incomplete hand-in.
05Keep this route separate from the Volcano Whale chain
Albatross resolves a Rocks-stage blocker, while Bowhead Whale begins a later Volcano chain. Joining them in one generic bird-and-whale page would hide their different triggers and make troubleshooting harder. Use the next route page only after the Albatross hand-in has been verified in your current save.
If Tuna does not start the expected event, confirm the island, rod, lure used to catch Tuna and quest state before repeating the catch. Do not infer a hidden probability, time window or weapon requirement from one failed attempt. The source record supports the bait chain, but not unsupported extra conditions.

- Independent community route references map Professional Boss Lure to Tuna and Tuna to the Albatross encounter chain.
- The available first-party records do not publish a fixed Albatross weapon, health, damage or trophy-name specification.
- Official Patch 1.0.12 identifies a slight Tuna nerf but does not publish a trigger, lure or hand-in change.
